Christ Crucified.. The Wisdom of God

There are two kinds of wisdom, the wisdom from above and the wisdom that is earthly, nonspiritual and demonic. Bible records, when Jesus said that he will go to the cross, Peter opposed and argued with Jesus. He was trying to say that this is not the way, we can choose another clever way to do things, so that we all would be successful. But Jesus replied to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! … For you not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man” ( Mathew 16:21-23). Peter was clearly operating through his worldly wisdom, however, Jesus was exercising his heavenly wisdom. Peter had set his mind not on the things of God but on the things of man. He was trying to be wise based on his natural wisdom. Jesus had said to them earlier, “Behold something greater than Solomon is here” (Mathew 12:42). They didn’t have to travel like queen Sheba from far, but wisdom in flesh was standing right next to them. We chose the way of the praise of man, and we lose with God. Today, let’s humbly tune our minds to the wisdom from above.
