You are predestined for greatness

FIRST TIMES…we never forget our first times in our lives, one of them as a child was attending Sunday school in Mumbai. Pastor Melissa Davidson then our dear darling teacher had our little minds captivated by her story of Abraham sending his servant Eliezer with a task to find a suitable wife for his son Isaac. Who had to be beautiful, hardworking and who would go out of the way to help the needy. Aunty Mel, herself was so beautiful, my little mind was imagining her to be Rebecca who was ready to allow a sip from her jug and then energetically continued filling multiple troughs with water until the job of satisfying a whole herd of thirsty camels was completed…

I heard her soft voice and now Neeta will pray…. that came as a shock, aunty Mel (my Rebecca) had asked me to pray after the story ended. Rebecca passed her camel test, but I failed my English test, I was studying in a municipality school and my English was very poor. That day I felt embarrassed to pray, I softly muttered few words and loudly said Amen so that everyone would be aware that I am done.

I went home and declared to my parents and my brother that from today onwards in our family prayer I will pray only in English and they can continue praying in Marathi. I never knew God was preparing me for greater things. I am still not perfect, but Rebecca and aunty Mel taught me to CHALLENGE MYSELF.

WHAT A SIGNIFICANT LESSON CAN WE LEARN TODAY HOW REBECCA RESPONDED TO THE CAMEL TEST?
